Africa has merged as the region with the world's highest economic growth. This Renaissance is evident in African Telecommunication market. If these trends can be sustained, the continent will be on of the world's most dynamic telecommunication market.

Fixed Lines:

The high growth in main lines suggests that sector strategies are paying off. One of the factors which has encouraged private investment is a continuing high level of expenditure per line in the region.

Mobile Cellular:

A number of factors are driving growth in African cellular markets.

  • Pent  - up demand (undeveloped state of fixed line)

  • Marketing

The Internet:

Most of the countries in Africa, have developed some form of internet access through local dial-up, store and forward email with a gateway to the Internet.
