Osmosis

  • 1. Collect epidermis of Boat Lily.
  • 2. Place in 0.2M, 0.5M sucrose solution and distilled water.
  • 3. Remove epidermis after 5 minutes and observe until microscope.

Caution:
concentration of solution used on slide must be the same as the concentration of solution epidermis
was previously placed in

Pollen Tube

Methods 1
Observe physical appearance of pollen.
  • 1.Collect Rose Periwinkle pollen
  • 2.Fixate pollen by placing it in 95% alcohol solution, and evaporating alcohol solution
  • 3.Stain with methylene blue stain
  • 4. Wash away stain after 10 minutes
Methods2
  • 1. Place pollen in 10%, 15%, and 20% sucrose solution.
  • 2. Smear edges of cover slide with vaseline, place on depression slide to observe

Observasion and Result
