Robin Island is a 2-hour boat ride from Cape
Town. It is a very historical and memorable place for the
people of Cape Town and South Africa because for 27 years Nelson
Mandela was imprisoned there, he lived in a prison cell on Robin
Island for standing up for what he believed in. In 1994 he
was set free and in that year he ran for president and was
elected in that year. He made history by being the first black
president in South Africa. When he was released the former
president F.W Deklerk broke the apartheid law.
