Myths and Truths on Aids

     Myth :
There is no evidence that HIV exists as a virus therefore it is not responsible for causing AIDS. AIDS has been around a long time and is due to factors such as poor living conditions, malnutrition trauma and stress.

     Truth :
While science can never be as certain as math's, the majority of the world’s leading virologists believe that the HIV hypothesis is correct.

     Myth :
HIV is a punishment for the wicked.

     Truth :
HIV is like any other virus except that it attacks the immune system itself .if only people would see that there is nothing mysterious about HIV, we could remove the rumors and suspicions and work and talk about aids openly.

     Myth :
AIDS is a result of people having sex with monkeys or drinking monkey’s blood.

     Truth :
The disease is likely to have originated from monkeys in Africa, this is most probably from contact between human and animal blood that was contaminated with the disease. It is not the first or the last time that disease will cross the species barrier.

 

     Myth :
If a person is infected and doesn’t show symptoms they will not be able to pass on the disease to their partners.

     Truth :
People who are HIV positive can infect another person with aids. The aids virus takes ± 10 years to become a full-blown virus and it only starts to show symptoms after the virus has fully grown.

 

     Myth :
When people hold hands, kiss, share the same rooms or use the same toilet; you can get aids.

     Truth :
None of the above things are true since there is hardly any transfer of bodily liquids. Saliva in your mouth does not contain enough of the HIV virus, so it cannot be transferred to another person purely by kissing.

So you see HIV is a very serious problem. People say that there is no cure for it and they ignore it. This is actually incorrect since there is a cure available right now for free. Its for free and can be found in the one place where you are the most, your head. If you weigh up all the pros and cons and decide to go ahead and have sex with the possibility that you might catch something, then that’s your choice. There is then no medical cure for HIV if you go this route. If you decide otherwise and that your life is much more important, you are already cured! Not having sex or being in a situation where the transfer of fluids results in an automatic cure for many problems. Keep this in mind and you should enjoy and happy, healthy life without Aids!
