| Using a mechanical release when
shooting is a popular for both hunters and target archers
alike. The mechanical release is most commonly used with
compound bows. When the release is used properly, it
allows for more accurate shooting than is possible when
using your fingers to shoot. When you trigger the device,
the release is cleaner than three, or even two, fingers
coming off the string. A mechanical release also allows
you to use a shorter (and lighter) arrow. There are three
different mechanical releases that are available: The
first mechanical is triggered using your index finger,
the second mechanical release is triggered using your
thumb, and the third mechanical release is triggered
using your pinky. You must experiment to see which works
the best for you.
