Akbar, the 3rd emperor of the Moghal Empire, built it in 1565. After that, it was reinforced and enlarged, and it continues up to today. It was designed for surviving in battles, surrounded by the double moat and the double rampart. The fort was established in every place of ramparts. However, in contrast with the outside, the internal royal palace is built luxuriously.
