Introduction All three members of our team live near the Umgeni River. The river plays an important part in our lives and provides a link betweeen our different lifestyles. The river itself has its own life from its source in the mountains to its meeting with the sea. At each stage in its life it faces threats and challenges. Because
rivers are under threat, it is important that they are monitored and
investigated. The Umgeni Water
Board itself does extensive testing, but enourages ordinary people to
get involved as well. After discussions with them we saw a need to make
their information available by the web in a more interactive format. |
