Painter name: Pablo Ruiz Picasso Form of art belong: Cubism |
Pablo Ruiz Picasso [1881-1973] Pablo Ruiz Picasso was born in Malaga Spain on October 25 1881. He became obsessed with art from a very early age,and from his fairly humble background he rose to become one of the undisputed masters of modern art. By the age of 14 young Pablo was already adept at painting in a realist manner however he had an obsessive need to express himself, and was constantly experimenting with new techniques.
Picasso moved to Paris in 1900,where lonely and impoverished he painted his first works from his now famous Blue Period.....by 1905 however, his fame was growing and his works became brighter. He abandoned the sombre dark imageryof the previous years..and his works became filled with .circus people and other brighter, light hearted, cheerful subjects....more and more he became disenchanted with the traditional european styles of painting...he began to study the primitive art of Africa, finding that a simple style of painting was able to express his' inner spirit' in a way that realism was unable to accomplish...
He was a prolific artist, and he experimented in a large number of mediums and styles, from drawings and paintings,to sculpture and ceramics, and from realism through to primitive abstraction. He was a leading exponent of many modern art movements, and along with Braque is credited as an inventor of the cubist style.
