Both solar sails and sun collisions are recent scientific endeavors. Solar sails are a theoretical invention that have not yet been proven
effective. The idea was brought up at the American Astronomical Society Solar Physics Division Conference. The concept is that by designing a "sail" that can harness the solar winds released by the sun when
a solar flare occurs, one will be able to travel through space. Some perceive this idea as a future Extreme Sport, however, at the moment the only evidence of this new form of transportation are some primative
designs. Recently there was a collision on the sun. Through studies, scientists have discovered that sun collisions effect the earth greatly. When the impact on the sun occured, there was a
large splirt of sun particals which could possibly damage the ozone layer. Still, sun collisions are rare because the sun is so hot that the objects heading towards it usually burn up, so posssible dangers are
rarely worried about. |
