The most important part of one parachutist's equipment is
the main parachute.Together with the reserve parachute they are
put in special sack which the parachutist carries on his back. The
whole set is tight to the jumper with harness.
Pilot Chute
Advanced parachutists use a special pilot chute to support
the deployment of their main parachute. It is kept on harness or
in a special pouch. The pilot chute is attached to a bridle which
is connected to the main parachute and as it is released into the
air,it pulls pin which opens the main parachute container.
Reserve Static Line (RSL)
RSL is used to activate the reserve parachute if there is a kind
of failure with the main one.
Altimeters
Altimeters are used to indicate the current altitude. They are usually
worn on the wrist or on the chest. There are another type of altimeters
which beep at precise altitude and they are attached to the ear.
Jumpsuite
This one is not necessary but it is quite useful for professionalist
because it helps them control particular parts of the body better
and regulate their fall rate -tight suits increase the fall rate
while a loose one decreases it.
Helmets And Goggles
Helmets and goggles(glasses) are optional equipment but are required
when gathering high speeed.
