Historical Timeline

    Volleyball was originated in 1895 by William g. Morgan, a physical director at the Young Men's Christian Association (YMCA) in Holyoke, Massachusetts. The game was originally designed for a large class of businessmen who desired an activity that was not as strenuous as basketball.

    Volleyball is a unique game which requires refined technique in the performance of its skills. An individual must master each of the basic skills (pass, set, and serve) in order to be successful in such a team-oriented game.
