Other Battles

This is the first battle that Zhuge Liang conducted since he left the Lying-Dragon mountain and followed Liu Bei. This Battle was extremly important as it helped to secure Zhuge's place in the Liu army, as at first neither Guan Yu nor Zhang Fei were perfectly happy that Liu Bei followed everything Zhuge said.

This battle was to repel the 10,000 troops commanded by Xiaohou Dun. Zhuge, however, had only 3000 men to spare. But Zhuge, with strategy was able to win this battle.

He first had Zhao Yun lure the enemy intro the Bowang Slope, then he had men set fire to the forest, during which Zhao Yun turned back with the three sworn brothers to attach the enemy troops. Too confused, the Cao army lost badly.

Battle of Changban Slope

This is the battle that made Zhao Yun famous. Zhao Yun came to rescue Liu's 2nd wife and the newly born baby. Liu's wife was injured and she knew that she could only be an obstable to Zhao Yun. While they were heavily encircled by the Cao forces, Liu's wife commited suicide so that Zhao Yun would only have to protect Liu's son. Zhao Yun thus slotted the infant into his chest armour and fought through the heavy encirclement of the Cao troops.

He fought through, killing many generals and soliders, without getting himself injured and dropping the baby. This act won the admiration of Cao Cao who wanted to capture Zhao Yun alive. But he was not successful as Zhao Yun escaped unscathed together with the baby.
