Then Revolt of Lulin and Chimei

During the reins of Wang Mang, because of heavy conscription and destruction caused by wars, peasants lost their means of subsistence, so they revolted against Wang Mang one after another. Of the revolting armies, the two largest are that of LuLin and ChiMei. The name Lulin was because the revolting army started on the mountain of Lulin. The name ChiMei was because every rebel painted his eye brow red. Lulin started in BC 17 and Chimei started in BC 18. They were credited with overthrowing Wang Mang.
