Robben Island Robben island was a place of banishment exile isolation unfair imprisonment and injustice for over 400 years and now is a place of peace and a look in the past. It is also famous for holding the most famous prisoner and former South African president , Nelson Mandela.
Nelson Mandela Robben island is a world heritage site and the island has over 70 bird species and many other wildlife such as springbok ,fallow deer ,eland and more. The island is 12 kilometers from Cape Town Harbor. The island can be reached by ferry daily.
