About

This website on schizophrenia was written, designed, and maintained by Rui and James for the 2001 ThinkQuest Internet Challenge. Our goal of creating the website was to offer readers a comprehensive and accurate description on schizophrenia by rendering text from traditional media into a website, thereby reflecting an Interent style of learning. We have implemented several discussion forums as well as quizz-taking capabilities in our site.

Despite the fact that the website was created by only two people, we are sure that the website covers the newest information and discoveries about schizophrenia and a collection of various traditional views as well. That was why we named our website "an eclectic view", for we included or mentioned almost all theories on schizophrenia.

Both of us, at the time of collaborating on the project, were high school sophomores from the state of New York, United States. English is used as the primary language of our website, we nevertheless translated the whole website into seven different languages, including Chinese, French, German, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, and Japanese. Besides English, the only language that we had a good command on was Chinese (simplified). For this reason, other language versions might have contained some flaws that obstruct readers' understanding. But we were sure that most of the text in those versions was translated correctly.

Although this website serves an entry for the 2001 ThinkQuest Internet Challenge, our primary focus lay in the creation of a comprehensive, easy-to-read, and interactive website, instead of merely aiming at the prizes. We hope our website could offer you readers a source of help in understanding and knowing about schizophrenia. For questions or suggestions, please go to CONTACT page for details.
