

The Statue of Mentuhotep II
Painted Sandstone, 138cm.ht., Carter discovered it in 1900 in the funerary temple of Mentuhotep at Deir El-Bahri (Thebes), now in Cairo Museum.
This statue had been ritually buried, he wears the red crown of lower Egypt and tight white heb-sed dress and the divine beard of the gods. His body is depicted with black colour and his hands crossed on his chest all these put him in the pose of Osiris.
The Statue of Senusert I
Limestone, 200cm.ht., from the funerary temple of Senusert I at Lisht, excavation of the Institute Francais d'Archeologie Orientale, 1894, now in Cairo Museum.
He seated and wears the nemes headdress with uraeus, ceremonial beard and a short shendit-kilt, he holds the folded cloth or handkerchief while the left hand stretched on his knee. On the side of the throne, there is the sematawy symbol indicates to the union of two lands (upper and lower Egypt). This statue is one of ten unfinished seated statues of Senusert I.
The Sphinx of Amenemhat III
Grey granite. 150cm.ht. discovered by Mariette in 1863, Tanis, now in Cairo Museum.
It was usurped by many later kings.
The grandeur of the features is amplified by the lion's mane which replaces the royal nemes, this statue represents the king as a farm of the sun-god of Heliopolis that the king as one of the other lion-gods of Heliopolis.
The statues of Nubian archers and Egyptian Pikemen
Painted wood, 55cm.ht., 59cm.ht., were found in the tomb of Mesehti at Assiut, XIth dynasty, now in Cairo Museum. The Nubian archers hold the bow sand, in the other hand bunches of arrows. The Egyptian pikemen hold a shield covered with an animal skin in the right hand a lance.
The Statue of offering bearer
Painted wood, 123cm, excavations of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, 1919-20, the tomb of Maketra, XIth dynasty at Thebes, now in Cairo Museum.
She walks carrying on her head a basket containing four conical breads and in her hand alive duck. She wears a beautiful dress a long wig.
