Swimming
Egyptian sources revealed how far talented swimmers reached higher level of culture rather than those who were not skilled. From the point of Egyptian's point of view, the biography of Herkhuf belonged to the VIth dynasty. They also believed that hostile people could not swim; and they proved by such inadequacy to be inferior compared to the pharaoh.
It was likely that swimming as a sport was widely practiced in the Nile.

Rowing
A number of archeologists who paid great attention to the monument that Amenhotep II consecrated in a temple being across the sphinx, have interpreted a passage in an inscription describing the crown prince as an oarsman.
According to the royal dogma of the period, the theme if the sphinx stela was among the king's athletic achievements which was related to the warrior and the hunter virtues in order to determine the image of an ideal monarch.
Regarding the pharaoh's prestige, it was not appropriate for the pharaoh to row in company of other oarsmen.
Some textual remains need to be revised especially those concerned with the notion of an oarsman prince. The "Rowing episode" followed my mentioning the princes' ability as a swift runner and his knowledge archery and horsemanship.
As was mentioned in an ancient Egyptian fairy tale, king Cheops - the builder of the great pyramid - intended to banish boredom by listening to stories about marvellous events. In one of these stories his predecessor Sneferu sought uncertainly in a way to amuse himself, His head priest suggested that cheerfulness could only be obtained through the aesthetic experience of rowing.
The Row boat riding across the lake of pleasure was stimulated erotically, because the crew consisted of two young maidens, who were only dressed in nets, the garment of Hathor, however the idle was disturbed by the mishap of one of the rowing maidens.

Hunting
Hippopotamus and crocodiles hunting could be exciting, yet dangerous. People went out in boats with harpoons and ropes. At first : Nobles used to hunt animals on deserts on foot until the reign of the new Kingdom , when horses and chariots were used. Sometimes Boatmen held water tournaments , and their object was to push your opponents in the water before pushing you.
Egyptians spend most of their leisure time by the river. Some went for boat trips or picnics, others tried to spear fishes or caught birds by shooting them with sticks. Moreover noblemen usually owed hunting cats, which were trained to search for the hunted birds, also sometimes tamed birds were held in the air to attract the other birds.
