Electricity Supply Intake Electricity is produced in the power station and is 'fed' to our homes through the service cable . There is a service breaker , it is to prevent overcurrent . The KWH meter is to calculate the energy consumption by the user . The electricity passes through the consumer unit where there is an isolator fixed inside to cut off the supply when overload or overcurrent occurs . From there we are able to get the supply to use for our daily needs . Consumer Unit (CU) : Consists of a double pole isolator , RCCB and a number of MCBs
