Emotion and Learning

Everybody wants to feel good, but it´s easy to forget that feeling good about yourself and life is one of the most important things you can do to help yourself learn and be creative. The most important emotional choices to make are: acceptance of yourself, your potential and your place in the world, hope for the future, and a desire to help others. Also, you need to feel you have freedom to learn and to be and express yourself the way you are.

One part of learning how you learn is finding your own best environment(s) for learning and thinking. This could be your room, office, backyard, library, a park, or anywhere you feel least distracted and most comfortable. Know when to study alone and when to benefit from the ideas (and questions) of others. Knowing when you learn best is also important, and is discussed more in section 4.

How, when, and where do you learn and think best?
How free are you to set and achieve your own goals?
What most bothers you and what would you like to change about yourself and the world in general?
What are your dreams and what do you love?
What interests you, and what do you really know?
