Etiquette when visiting a Kramat

As the blessings of Allah descend with the remembrance of the Wali, it is only understandable the blessings of Allah descend at the graves of the Auliya as well.  One should uphold and maintain utmost respect when visiting a Mazaar.  One should be in the state of tahaarah and wudhu.  Shoes should be removed and one should be covered accordingly.  It is prohibited to sit on, lean against or stand on a grave.  Only the intention to derive spiritual benefit should be in one’s mind.  Stand or sit respectfully at the graveside facing the Wali and avoid loud or unnecessary talking.  One should also recite the holy Quran.
