La Fayette

Marie Joseph du Motier Marquis de La Fayette was a noble person in France. As a young man he took part in the "War of Liberty" (1776-83). La Fayette was a competent officer. In the summer 1789 he became leader of the Nationalguard. He would like to maintain the monarchy, but reduce the power. Year after year he became a protector of the kingdom. Espacially Danton didn't like it. In August 1792 La Fayette went to Austria. Ten years later he came back. In 1830 he became leader of Nationalguard again, during the July revolution, that made Louis Filip king of France.
