Third class were the farmers and normal workers. They should pay large taxes to the king and the nobility, so much that they did not have enough to themselves. Hunger was normal every day of the week, and the farmers often died because they didn’t get any food. Only a few of the 24 millions of farmers that were in France had money to buy other stuff than food. Many of the farmers moved to the larger cities to find work. The few lucky ones got work in a factory, the rest mostly went around begging for food.
