First class was the people from the church. They were some of the most important people in France. The bishops were normally very rich and noble.
They lived in Versailles in the south-west of Paris, and they only worked a few days of the year. Some of them were in the king's senate, so they got a
lot of power. And first class did not pay taxes. But first did class also included the normal priestess. They were very poor, but their job was
very important. Their job was teaching small kids and poor grown-ups in the Catholic faith. They gave food to the poor and made homesto the
poorest people. They also helped sick and old people. Most of these priests happily joined the farmers in the revolution.
