When Zeus overthrew Cronus, the era of the Titans ended, and the rule of the Olympians began. Zeus was the head ruler. Ruling with him, his brothers, sisters, relatives and other major gods occupied the twelve thrones on Mount Olympus, plus Hestia who gave up her seat to Dionysus, and Hades, who reigned from the underworld.
