Craig Thomas is a local consultant, who worked for Bill Grasser, the owner of a local ski area during 2000, and has a lot of interesting stories and ideas about what happened. He lives in Stevensville, Montana, in the Bitterroot Valley.
He originally went to forestry school at the University of Montana, and worked for two different timber companies located in Montana for many years, until forming his own consulting business.

Gretchen Serwacki is retired, and she is a resident of the Springer Memorial community, located east of Sula, Montana, in the East Fork. She is involved with the community, and had a lot of personal experiences with the fires of 2000, their aftermath, and the community

John Meyers is the manager for the large Shining Mountain Ranch, located in French Basin, east of Sula, Montana. The fires almost surrounded his ranch for more than 30 days while he worked at his ranch to protect as much land and forest as possbible.

Sherry Devlin is a reporter for the Missoulian newspaper, covering the environmental and natural resource beat.
She won the 2000 Scripps Howard Foundation National Reporting Award for environmental journalism for her series of stories on the fires of 1910 and 2000.

Jane Lambert is a long time resident of Stevensville, Montana, and a horse lover. Her husband, Eric, is an employee of Ravalli County Electrical Co-op, and she experienced some of the fires of 2000 firsthand.
