The brain is controlled by these three main units:
a) Central nervous System (CNS) -
It helps transmitting messages in the brain and domineers our senses, personalities, heart beat, blood pressure and our reactions towards different environmental changes. It is the main part of our survival.
ai) Spinal cord -
The 31 pairs of spinal nerves are going through them. Each of the nerves consists of a dorsal root for the entry of sensory neurons and a ventral root for the exit of motor neurons. in the central part, a spinal canal will be continuous with the brain ventricles which has cerebro spinal fluid. The inside and outside of the cord is encompassed by the gray and white matter respectively. As for the nerves, they are in the peripheral nervous system that starts from the spinal cord and are nerves that are located together. They provide as bridges for the receptors and effectors to the brain and spinal cord.
aii) Meninges -
They are the set of membranes that enclosed the spinal cord and the brain. the 3 sets of membranes are
i) the tough, outer dura mater
ii) the middle arachnoid which contains cerebro spinal fluid
iii) the inner pia mater which is rich in fine blood vessels
