The most famous of mythologies around the world are that of the Greek and the Romans. Rome in fact copied the Greek gods, changing their names when they invaded Greece. In this site, we have chosen to concentrate on the Greek myths themselves, since the Roman myths are almost identical.

Although no immediate knowledge is required for the understanding of these stories, it would be a great advantage if one was acquainted with the main characters in Greek Mythology. Creation provides the basic foundation in the principle gods of Greek Mythology, but if one is interested in finding out more about the extensive range of characters in Greek Mythology, do browse through the many links provided.

The Tale of Perseus

The famous tale of Perseus, who was sent to kill the gorgon, Medusa. Not only did he manage to slay the gorgon, but he also went on to save the beautiful princess, Andromeda, from a sea monster, and took her as his wife.

 

The Cretan Labyrinth

The Minotaur was the half-human/half-bull creature, who roamed the labyrinth in Crete. This tale tells of how the Minotaur was born and kept from the world. He would later be killed by the hero Theseus.

 

The Trojan War

The Siege of Troy was most popularly known by the final end game ploy that ended the war- The Trojan Horse. However, the Trojan War lasted a lot longer than that, engaging many mythical heroes who came to Troy for the battle.
