The Survey

Aim:  

The aim of the survey is to check whether people know what is GM food, their confidence in GM food and how they think about GM food.                                       

Procedures: 

1. The survey was conducted in Singapore and Hong Kong.
2. 150 Students (16-18) from three high schools took the survey.

Questions: 

1. Have you ever heard of Genetic Modified food?

  Yes: 150      No: 0

2. Do you think Genetic Modified Food will affect your health negatively?

  Yes: 137     No: 13

3. Will it be ok if the food you eat everyday are Genetic Modified food?

Yes: 24     No: 126

4. Do you think Genetic Modified Food will become common in the coming future?

    Yes: 64      No: 86

5. Do you think the presence of Genetic Modified food is a good solution to starvation around the world?

     Yes: 56     No: 94

6. Do you think the government should restrict the entry of GM food from other countries?

    Yes: 120      No: 30

7. Do you think there are too many GM products now?

  Yes: 3     No: 147

8. In conclusion, how do you think of GM food?
1. Kick them out from stores
2. Sell more GM products
3. No comment, but better if eat non – GM food
4. No comment, GM food is quite acceptable

Conclusion: 

People think that GM food does not much harm to their health, but the  majority of participants do not prefer GM food.
