This is probably the fastest way
of making a gene. De Novo synthesis is only developed
recently, when extensive knowledge of the human genome is
established.
As mentioned in the earlier Basic
Genetics, the gene is actually the base sequence of many
nucleotides. So, if we know the base sequence of
nucleotides, we can manufacture a gene directly.
Scientists have developed machines that can
synthesise the genes they need automatically. They only need
to key in the sequence of the gene and feed the machine with
the 4 nucleotides: A, T, C, G. Then, the machine will
generate the gene in a few hour's time.
