Once a year the athletic fields around the high school are swarming with elementary aged students.  It's field day. With the help of all the gym classes, seniors in CARE put on a day of games and sports for all of the 5th graders in the school district.

Each grade school class is a team, and the teams compete against each other. Each team represents a foreign country. Students create t-shirts and banners representing their countries. 

Popular activities of the day are the softball throw, 100 m dash, the long jump, and tug-of-war. Treats are provided and everyone has a good time. During field day, the emphasis is on a healthy lifestyle. Everybody goes home tired and the winners go home with a small prize.
