Every picture contains elements of design. These elements include curves, diagonal/horizontal/vertical lines, circles, textures, patterns, silhouettes and other designs. Looking at the picture below, you should be able to recognize various elements of design

The windows in the photograph create rectangular shapes. The rails of the wooden bridge show diagonal lines. The pattern of the horizontal tracks make a vertical line toward the focal point (center of interest, where the reader is drawn, the subject). The wheel in the right window gives a circular shape, also making the picture asymmetrical.
The following are examples of elements of design.
