In the Closet...
After taking pictures on your camera,
rewind the film and carefully remove it from the back. In the darkroom
you will need the following:
Find a closet that is completely secured from light and open your
negative canister with a manual can opener. Open the canister by popping
the upper lid up and pulling out the spool. Unravel the negatives and
hook the end of the roll to the inside teeth of the reel. Pinch the
edges of the negatives carefully and wrap the roll around the reel.
The negatives must fit between the wires and must not touch the rest of
the roll. When finished, place the reel into the tank and add the lid.
When the negatives are secured from light in the tank, exit the closet
and walk to your processing chemicals. The rest of the darkroom is lit with safelights, unlike the closet in which you rolled your negatives. Safelights are safe for your printing paper but not for your negatives.
