Here are some suggestions for
drawing to an accurate size when a paper copy is your
basis. First, go to the NASA site (see link below) and
print out a copy of the original drawing. Then you
can superimpose a grid on it. This will help you draw
proportionately.
Next, you have two options.
The first is to draw the views the actual dimensions.
This is the preferred approach in CAD. Draw everything
full scale, then apply a scale factor for plotting.
Another approach is to draw the views scaled down to a
standard sheet size, say a length of 12.2, width of 7.8,
height of 5.6. Then use the Scale command to scale up to
the correct dimensions.
