LESSON 2. Drawing setup

In this lesson you will use these CAD commands:

Set Display
Set Paper
Set Grid
Set Line type
Set Text type
To complete this lesson, you will need to have the CadStdŽ software. If you haven't already downloaded the software, click here to go back to Lesson 1. You should have the CadStdŽ program open in one window, and the SpaceCAD lessons in another window.

If you were to start a drawing using paper and pencil, instead of CAD, you would have to make some decisions first. What size paper should you use? What tools would you need for the drawing -- templates, scale, curve, ruler, t-square, etc.? What is the scale of the drawing?

When creating a drawing in CAD, you also need to make decisions. Part of these decisions have to do with the "paper" size. The rest of them have to do with drawing aids. All of these are conveniently grouped on the CadStdŽ menu under "Settings". In this lesson, you will learn how to set up a drawing.
