Name Description
Fan The fan is cooling the computer. Most the CPU or GPU. CPU's from AMD needs a high quality fan.
Fatware (also bloatware) If a program have alot of code that can't be used some people call it Fatware.
FDD (Fixed Disk Drive, Floppy Disk Drive). The slot on the PC which accepts floppy disks, almost always referred to as "Drive A:" by the computer.
Fire Wall Hardware and software that separates a LAN into many parts for security.
Firewire Is a pretty new high-end interface for external devices such as harddrives.
Floppy disk Also known as a diskette. Originally called floppy disks because they were round and non-rigid, but modern floppies might as well be called rigid squares, as the actual floppy disk is enclosed inside a rigid, almost square protective casing. Until recently most programs were released on one or more floppy disks, but most modern programs are so large that they are usually released on CD ROM instead. Standard floppy disks have a capacity of 1.44 Megabytes, but there have been quite a few other formats.
Folder An area on a disk for storing files in. Folders can also contain other folders, which can contain more folders. Used to organize files on the Hard Drive
FTP A way of moving files between two Internet sites.
