RELATION BETWEEN PREVENTION AND TREATMENT

There are very few methods of prevention, which are not related to treatment.

But treatment of drug addiction is also a type of prevention (against the HIV infections and hepatitus or problems with over-doses).

Prevention and treatment are often one and the same thing and have quite similar goals. But they have also some significant differences. One of them is that prevention is for a group of people and treatment- for the person only. And, if the prevention is good, it can make treatment much cheaper ($1 invested in prevention can save up to $4 - $5 invested in treatment).
