METHODS FOR RESTRICTION

An important goal of criminal law is restriction with ban of a particular way of behavior. A law can be evaluated as an inefficient one, when many people, who are then arrested and punished, break it. Getting too many people, who possess drugs, in the prisons overcrowds them, leads to other problems and doesn't have a good effect of restriction of the illegal drug market and use.

Research in some countries show that laws for drugs are effective, only if the punishment for breaking the law is executed very quickly and it is adequate to the crime.
