After it appeared many benzodiazepines, of which diazepam is the most popular one (relanium, valium). Other substances of this group are medazepam (Rudotel), nitrazepam (Radedorm), temazepam, flunitrazepam, alprazolam. Benzodiazepines are among the most modern substances in the pharmaceutics industry and lately many new substances are sold. They are advertised as the new and only sedative drug, which has no unpleasant effects and doesn't cause addiction. One of the latest examples is bromazepam (Lexotan). But has been already proven that the new benzodiazepines are not different to the old ones at all.
The substances of this group are used for viligance and as anxiolitics - remedies for feeling of fear and unrest. Their anxiolitic effect appears only if the user really feels fear or unrest. Otherwise it only causes a feeling of tiredness and relaxation and this is quite unpleasant. Diazepam causes sometimes quite an unexpected reaction- the users become aggressive and violent. These effects are even stronger, when nitrazepam or flunitrazepam is used. This substance also makes the user feel as if he is all-powerful and invulnerable. This happens to people, who otherwise oppress their aggression to the others.
