Phencikline (PSP)The PSP has been synthesized for the first time in 1928, but not until 1957 was it suggested for usage as an anesthetic in the surgery by the name - sernil. But very soon it was found that it has strong and unacceptable effects over the humans’ psyche. Patients, who have just regained consciousness, are often in a state, which is very similar to schizophrenia, in which not only that they are suffering from hallucinations, extreme anxiety and delirium, but there are also signs of violence present. That’s why in 1967 PCP, known back then as sernilan, was used only in the vet practice. PSP was first brought to the black market in the “summer of love” of 1967. At the beginning there were some rumors that it caused unexpected effects and that’s why the sellers had to lie their customer that this is a LCD, mescaline, psylocibine or even amphetamine. After 1974 appeared the first “admirers” of the unique effects of PSP and from that moment on until now its usage has been escalating very fast. But it looks like that for the past couple of years the usage has been stabilized and now it is even diminishing. Many believe that the rockers from the group “Hell’s Angels” have established this trend of the phencikline. This is also the reason why so many people call it “angel dust”. It has many other names such as: PSP, peace pill, crystal, hog, horse tranq, rocket fuel etc. Earlier the PSP was taken in orally, but this way had one disadvantage – the effect came not until an hour or so. Many people, who are not so experienced, think that the loss of fast effects is caused by the small dose and that’s why they take more, which is sometimes considered as a fatal mistake. Nowadays the PSP is most often smoked. It is usually steeped in cigarettes of parsley. The amount of narcotic, which is present in a cigarette strongly varies, but the experienced smoker can determine it, having in mind when the effect takes place. Popular are also the marijuana cigarettes, containing PSP (super weed, super grass). The PSP that is sold on the streets is not so clean; its main side product separates in the organism the very deadly cianohydrogen. The experienced smokers of PSP think that the effect of a dose of 2-3 mg takes place in 5 minutes and lasts about 30 minutes. In such state a person is usually speechless, he is more like in his own fantasy world. Typical sensations are euphoria, ringing in the ears, warmth all over the body, peacefulness, isolation, sometimes visual or auditory hallucinations. The sense for space and time is incorrect. The emotional state may vary from a slight euphoria to an anxiety or fear. The psychosis, caused by greater doses, may last for about 3-6 hours, but it takes 24 hours for the effect to wear off completely. |
