If you don't own an air conditioner
or you are very environmentally friendly, it is essential
to have a well-ventilated bedroom. Open your windows
wide, and if the room still feels stuffy, keep an
electric fan on to keep up the circulation of oxygen.
Although keeping potted plants in your bedroom may
make your room cosier, it is not advised, as they
will compete with you for the oxygen at night.
Last but not least, selection of the
bed is a factor not to be overlooked. Again, it depends
on one's preference. Some general guidelines would
be getting a bed that isn't rock hard, but not too
soft either. Some believe that a harder bed is better
for one's back, and some even advocate sleeping on
the floor, but if you're one of those who have been
sheltered most of your life and not really into the
"back to nature" approach (like the rest
of us here), then I wouldn't encourage it. The pillow
should also be soft enough to support your neck, but
not so soft that your entire head sinks into it.
