The monitor is considered an output device. This output device lets you see what the computer is doing, and what you input into the computer. The monitor is a very useful part of the computer. It is taken for granted, but when it dies you can’t use the computer.
When a picture is displayed on the monitor it is made up of very tiny dots called Ben Day dots. If you want to look at an example of this, look at the Sunday comics. If you look close enough, you can see small dots that make up the picture. PC monitors work the same way. Colors are displayed by three electron beams, which are located on the back of the cathode-ray tube (CRT).
