Input devices allow users to input data or communicate with the computer. Some kinds of these devices would include a keyboard, mouse, scanner, joysticks, light pens, touch pad, modem, CD-ROM’s, and a microphone. The keyboard, mouse and touch pad allow users to communicate and input data to it. Scanners make images into binary code. Joysticks input movements and are primarily used by game players. Light pens allow you to draw, like using a regular pen.
With out input devices the computer won’t really much, because it won’t know what to do. With the use of input devices you tell the computer what to do. When you click on an icon on the desktop of windows or OS/2, you are telling the computer what to do. These devices are just as important as the processor.
