There is a painter who , in the flowing of time,  found the meaning of his art. Monet wanted to get " the beauty that shines for a moment in the intuition of an instant".

Everybody can admire his genius in his 50 works in Rouen Cathedral, more  than the other Impressionists he catches the fleeting moment before it flies away, the light before it changes…

The philosopher W.Benjiamin saw the tragedy of history in a painting by P.Klee: "… there is a duck… his eyes and his mouth are wide open, his wings stretched, his look set to the past. Where there is a chain of events he only sees a whole catastrophe which endlessly stacks ruins upon ruins.

....A tempest blows from heaven, which is entangled in its wings; it is so strong he can't fold them. This storm inevitably pushes him into the future, to which he gives his back, while the heap of ruins goes into the sky.

This storm is what we call progress".
