Summary: This helicopter is powered by 2 GE T700-GE-701 turboshaft engines. It is armed with a Boeing M230 Chaingun as well as a 30mm High Explosive Gun. It can also take 16 hellfire missiles, 76 2.75FFAR Rockets, 4 stingers, 4 mistrals, or 2 sidewinder missiles.
History: In September and November of 1975, 2 prototypes were delivered. The 500th one was produced in July of 1993, and the 900th one in October of 1995. The capability of holding stinger missiles was added in October of 1987.
