Biomes - Introduction
This 'Biomes' section has extensive information on each of the seven major
land biomes around the world. Each biome is divided by certain topics which
pertain to that biome specifically. Now and then, other specific
characteristics of a biome demand that another separate topic be explored.
At the bottom of each page, there is an option that allows you to give your
own contribution about biomes to the site. If many people share their knowledge with us and others, the content of the site will continuously grow.

The saltwater biome is the largest biome. It consists of all the oceans and seas on the globe. The freshwater biome is made up of all the rivers and lakes in the world and is devided into two sections: standing and running water. The Easturary biome has less salt than the saltwater biome and more than the freshwater biome. The Easturary is where saltwater and seawater mix and is home to many organisms. It also helps heep floods in control by obsorbing the water. If we were to destroy an Easturary to make homes there would be nothing to take in the water and it would flood.
