The Spinal Chord

     The spinal cord is the object linking the brain to the rest of the body. Bony vertebrae that make up the vertebral column protect it. Inside the spinal cord are cell bodies and dendrites with interneuronal axons surrounding them. They carry messages to and from the brain. Reflexes not immediately involving the brain are controlled by the spinal cord.
