Play
Practice is essential to becoming a good chess player. It
also adds the interest and challenge - how do I beat that person's
opening?
Here are several places you can practice:
- Here
- Play elsewhere online
- Yahoo.com - This is free. You can play against people
from anywhere in the world. This requires you to be able to
view a java applet.
- KasparovChess.com - This is the official website of Garry
Kasparov. When you sign up, you get a free e-mail account and
a newsletter that contains chess problems to solve and current
chess news. This site requires you to download their software
to play. This is sometimes well worth it, as they get
grandmasters and masters to play on their service.
- The Internet Chess Club
- US Chess Federation - This is for members only.
