Alchemy: A Tool of Man

Alchemy, in its early form, was established with the dawn of man. As soon as man obtained the skills he started making tools, first out of wood and bone and later out of metal. He found ways to make survival easier. Man started with copper axes and later evolved to bronze knives. Many years later iron came into play and then man moved to the steel of modern skyscrapers. In ancient times man started refining and shaping gold, which was a complete opposite of their surroundings - gold was bright, shiny, and worry free. Gold came to adorn many chiefs and heads of state. It became a very valuable commodity. It was hard to find and even harder to purify. Since gold was indeed very rare many people began to wonder if it could be created using other metals. Alchemy was born...
