Coach Profiles

Steve Ferguson has been a secondary Fine Arts teacher for 16 years, with more and more emphasis on graphic art. He assisted the Madrigal Team by instructing and advising the graphic imaging, and the use of such software as Adobe PhotoShop. He has coached or been involved with graphic imaging for ThinkQuest teams for the past three years. "It has been a pleasure to work with such talented and dedicated students, and I look forward to many more years of the same."

 Miss Sheryl Hinman
 English Instructor

SL Hinman is a secondary English/Journalism teacher. She has been teaching for 32 years and has coached ThinkQuest teams for every competition. She provided the madrigal team with research guidance, instructions on basic Netscape Composer operations, and as a resource for grammar/writing feedback. SL Hinman considers the ThinkQuest experience "a mind stretcher." ThinkQuest has motivated her to expand her technical knowledge. "When I first began, I hadn't even sent an email message!" she said. "Now, I use the Internet as a resource for communication."

 Mr. Russ Ullrich
 Technology Instructor

Russ Ullrich has been teaching secondary school for six years. He teaches Business, Web Design, and Programming courses. He's also a Building Technology Specialist, TEC Sponsor, and Building Technical Director for Fine Arts. This is his first formal year with ThinkQuest. Russ Ullrich assisted in providing guidance in page layout and html structure as well as media creation. He said, "It's a lot of fun seeing the sense of accomplishment the students get when the site is finally finished and all the hard work comes together."
