Lu Xiaoman & Xu Zhimo In 1925, Zhimo met Lu Xiaoman, a famous beauty in Beijing, the capital of China. When they met, Xiaoman was the wife of Wang Geng, one of Zhimo's friends. The marriage was arranged by Xiaoman's parents. However, there was no love between Xiaoman and Wang Geng, just as that of Zhimo and Zhang Youyi. Wang Geng was so engaged in his work that he cared little for Xiaoman. He had no time for Xiaoman, so he asked Zhimo to accompany Xiaoman when he was in work. At first, Zhimo accompanied Xiaoman because Wang Geng was his friend, but gradually he was impressed by Xiaoman's talent. Xiaoman knew a lot about literature. The two often discussed about poems and literature together. They felt fond of each other. At that time, Zhimo was still felt painful of losing Lin Huiyin and he needed love urgently. He found this on Xiaoman. He discovered that Xiaoman did not love Wang Geng and decided to rescue her from this abyss. Xiaoman also loved Zhimo as he could give her what she wanted. Their relationship was criticized by many of their friends and parents. Both of them had married. Yet, they kept close to each other and determined to achieve their own freedom. In 1925, when Zhimo was on a visit to Europe, he was called back by Xiaoman. Wang Geng decided to move to Shanghai, the most prosperous city in China at that time. Xiaoman did not want to move, as it would be almost impossible for she to see Zhimo anymore. She pretended sick and waited for Zhimo's coming back. However, she finally moved to Shanghai under the threat of her parents. Zhimo followed her to Shanghai. In Shanghai, Xiaoman and Wang Geng divorced with the help of Zhimo's friends. Xiaoman gained freedom again and the relationship between her and Zhimo was on developing. They married in 1926. After the marriage, the two lived happily for a period of time. They discussed about poems at night. With the help and support of Xiaoman, Zhimo produced a lot of poems and publish several poem collections such as <<Zhimo's poems>>, <<a night at Feilengcui>>. However, their happiness did not last for a long time, as Xiaoman changed back to her original character and started to spend money at great expense. Though Zhimo was a doctor in two famous universities in China, his income was not enough for Xiaoman to spend that he had to fly from one province to another province. After Zhimo's death, Xiaoman gradually corrected her bad habit and started to behave as a good lady. She learnt literature and translated some famous foreign literature. She died in 1965.
